Climber

Logan is a climber. He has learned how to climb on the step stool, climb up on to the couch, how to climb down off our bed (which is like 4 ft off the ground - seriously, I have to jump to get on top of it), and now how to climb on to the dining room chairs and then onto the table. Climbing on the table has since been deemed a "no-no", as we don't want to get into bad habits, even though it is really cute right now.

Maybe in a few years, Uncle Doug can take Logan rock-climbing. Show him the ropes - literally!

Rolly chair

Logan likes to sit in the rolly chair. He also likes to have a parent jump out at him around the corners of the kitchen, on the rolly chair or when he's walking. He just thinks that's SO funny. Notice how he's done it so much that he starts leaning forward in anticipation of Mama jumping out from behind the wall.

Easter-egg-head

Logan is learning to run, or at least walk fast. This is coming with some bumps and bruises as he keeps loosing his balance (stop pointing fingers at me! He didn't get any grace from me - I have none to spare!).

Today, before we even went to Bible study at 9:30am he'd fallen 3 or 4 times. Ouch! He has a big egg on his forehead (he seems to fall to the same side each time) and a scrape on his nose. The little egg has a nice little color to it. Reminds me a bit of an Easter egg. So, I'm calling him Easter egg head. Good thing he doesn't know what that means yet!

Maybe he'll learn to land on his bottom - cloth diapers have a lot of padding!

What a number - what a car!

Look at my little Honda CR-V! What a number for the books! It's been a great little car - it's moved me so many times, and now it puts up with Cheerios and raisins being thrown all around the backseat.

Daddy's boy

After we went for a "neck-jerking", aka walk, with the dogs this morning, Shane needed to take a shower before hitting the sack. Logan was clinging to his daddy. I came up to take him from Shane, and I got stiff-armed (future NFL player?). Not once, but TWICE.

When Shane got into bed, I took away the TV remote Logan had picked up. After much crying, fit throwing, and bumping of little heads on the tile floor (it was a good fit), I put Logan in bed with Shane. He laid on his Daddy's chest, calmed down, wiped his snotty nose all over Shane's face, and then put his arms around his neck. It was sweet. Of course, I was totally unwelcome in the queen sized bed. There is never enough space for mean mommies.

Eating popcorn with Daddy and Bug

Today, for an appetizer, the boys (all three of them) had popcorn. Daddy was showing Logan how to "properly" feed the dog. Apparently, you have to make a bomb-type noise to do it right. This makes Little Man burst into hysterics. This also signals to boy-dog that you are giving him popcorn, a puppy fave.

Everyone is happy!

Logan and his puppy

Logan got a little plastic dog for his birthday from our sweet neighbors. Until recently, he didn't really understand the concept of pulling it behind him. Well, as evidenced from this picture, he still doesn't completely grasp the concept, but he's getting really close. And sometimes, he really does pull it behind him!

He's grown so attached to it that the last few naps and the last few nights, he's gone to sleep with it. It's easier to put him in bed with strange things (belts, Sam's dog collar, a plastic dog) than it is to fight to take them away from him. I don't think sleeping with a plastic puppy would be fun, but whatever. I usually take it out of his bed when he's asleep and put it on his bookcase. This morning, he was sitting up in bed playing with it when I came in to get him up. Sometimes, he calls the puppy "Bug". He's a funny guy.

Smiley Valentines

Logan, my smiley little Valentine. (Daddy is my smiley big Valentine - and he had better be smiling after getting a PSP - such a romantic present on my part.)

Phil and Hope came over with Valentine's Day presents for all of us. Logan got a little basket with a tiger in it. He was carrying the basket all over the house, and even went out the doggy door with it. So funny.

Then he had to help Zoe with her rawhide chip. What a nice boy, giving food to the puppies. He also will now sit down and call "Bug! Bug!". Of course, Bug doesn't answer, because he's not sure about this Logan guy. But Logan tries and tries to call Bug over.

Happy Birthday, Auntie Phil!

Today was Phil's birthday, and Hope threw her a surprise party. Well, okay, it was Lindsey, Hope, and our family. But she didn't know about it so I think she was surprised. Sandy and Vera from next door were supposed to come as well, but Sandy was in the hospital with possible gallbladder issues. Not fun!

Logan loves going to Hope and Phil's house - they have dogs that are his size, and STAIRS. Fun times! Plus, they let him knock down all their CDs and play with their remotes. Baby heaven! As you can see, he likes to "help" Hope out in the kitchen.

He has also become quite the little cuddle bear, and he loves to cuddle with anyone who will hold him. He cuddled with Miss Dianne at church today, with Daddy on the couch, and here he is with Auntie Hope.

Phil didn't want to blow out her candles, so she took this rather interesting approach. Did she think she was too old to blow them out at once (probably, since Hope put the relighting candles on the cake - notice all the smoke)?

This was my gift to the birthday girl - brownies! From scratch even! Possibly the best brownie recipe I've run across. Anyway, I tried a new thing with the Cricut and powdered sugar. What'd ya think? Next time I'll need better tweezers, I smudged some of the letters...

What kinda company does my husband work for?

Okay, this just in from usatoday.com:

Bar Refaeli, the new cover girl for this year's Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition, will grace a Southwest jet being dubbed "S.I. One," the Chicago Tribune reports. After publicity events this morning in New York, Refaeil is "set to be whisked away in a Southwest Airlines Boeing 737 dubbed the 'S.I. One' this afternoon for a cross-country promotional trip," MSNBC.com writes. The website adds that "in an ultimate honor, the plane will feature Refaeli's photo spread across its hull."

I'll see if I can get a picture of it. Maybe it won't be so flattering...I can have my dreams...

Sittin' pretty

Logan is a BOY. Only boys can sit this way, or at least seem to do it innately. Just chillin', Mama.

Praise report - I do not have gestational diabetes! Hallelujah! Thanks to the Thursday Bible study for constant prayer, and to Shelby for watching Logan almost all day. I also found out why I had to wait 2 1/2 hours for the rhogam shot at Clear Lake Regional. Apparently, some women require more than just the standard 30 ccs of rhogam, so that's why they do the full type and work-up. But, I'm still O-, so call me if you need blood.

And sad clown - my dental hygienist today (who was 8 months pregnant) didn't know that I was pregnant. I'm in my 7th month! Seriously, I'm not generally this fat! And this baby is more out front than Logan was...geez.

The GO Machine

Logan is a GO machine, much like his daddy. Neither of them can sit still for very long. Shane paces while he's on the phone! Anyway, Logan always has to be doing something. He has figured out how to get the unlocked padlock out of the door on the dogfood and throw dogfood on the floor. This seems to go over well with Bug and Zoe, just not with Mama. She is SO narrow minded - who cares that she just mopped the floor!

Yesterday, Logan was playing in Zoe's food bowl (usually, both feet are in the bowl and the hands are on the water bottle). Doesn't he look cute in his little monkey suit?

Then today, before church (after he was dressed for church, too), we went outside to play. Well, okay, Logan went outside through the doggie door, and Mama had to follow. His socks were soaked, and his little bottom was wet (but I figured it would dry before church, no need to change). Then we went inside and played - reading "The Discovery Farm" over and over again. And all this was before he went down for his morning nap at 8:50! He likes to walk non-stop for the little over 2 hours between getting up and taking a nap. Although, he also dances to his Fridge DJ a lot, too. Auntie Hope and Auntie Phil did a great job picking that present out!

And here we are - okay, I look like I got hit by a truck, but this was pre-shower and pre-coffee.

Pictures are funny

For some reason, Logan thinks pictures of him and someone else are super funny. Sometimes, we'll sit and watch the digital frame go through the pictures, and I'll say, "That's you and Gram" or "That's you and Grandpa", and he just busts up.

So today, he got a card in the mail from Gram and Bapa with pictures in it. He giggled when he saw the pictures! I got a little bit of the after-effect on video. By that time, he was almost more interested in figuring out how the pictures were put on the paper...and how to take them off.

Feeding the dogs

Logan thinks it's hilarious to feed the dogs. It really doesn't matter what kind of food it is: rawhide bones, Beggin' Strips, pigs ears, Logan's lunch, chunks of dog food, whatever. It is all good fun! And apparently, feeding the dogs from the bag is the best fun of all!

For at least 10 minutes, Logan fed the dogs straight from the bag - nevermind that Mama had just put food in their bowls. They needed to have hors d' orves. Ersomething like that.

Talking in Morse Code

Logan loves to talk (think he's related to his Daddy?). He has these great inflections and looks at you like you should totally understand what he's saying (which we don't). The following is a conversation between Shane and Logan today on the couch.

Logan: "Dit, dit, dit. Daa. Daa. Dit, dit, dit."

Daddy: "We don't speak Morse Code, Logan."

Yeah, that's the way we roll

So I try to get out once a day with the dogs and Logan for a walk. Since it's been cold in the mornings, it's only been about 3 - 4 times a week. The dogs LOVE to go for a walk (especially since I'll let them off lead for a while), and Logan thinks the dogs are hilarious as they run around. He also likes to grab their leashes on occasion, or pet them while we're walking. As you can see, they like to heel with the stoller, not me.

There's a house at the back of our subdivision with a very hospitable dog. He welcomes us to the back of his yard everytime we walk by. In fact, he's so excited to see us, he tries to get his head over the fence. He's a little noisy, and when we used to walk in the mornings on Saturday, I'd almost feel bad about waking people up, but whatever. If you're not up by 7:30 on the weekends, you should be!

We've been working on sit/stay with Bug and Zoe. Zoe's had some problems breaking stay after a few minutes. But here they are in all their glory sitting pretty (a few seconds later, both of them were lying down, which is okay).
But, this is the way we roll, folks!

Dancing to the Boss

Logan enjoyed the Super Bowl...at least the halftime show. He watched it standing up and danced to most of the songs. Of course, all this when he was ready for bed, so Nukky was in mouth (though sometimes he took a sip from his sippy cup of milk, so Nukky was in hand).

Enjoy the dancing baby!

Fixing the doggie- or kiddie - door

Logan and Shane fixed the doggie door that Zoe broke a month or so ago (it was locked and she cracked both sheets of plexiglass - I hope her head hurt!). Anyway, they took the door completely out, which made both dogs nervous. They weren't sure if they could go out without the door. Then they took both doors and springs off, put the new doors in their place, and recaulked the door.

Logan was "helpful" - he tried to take out all the foam in the door, he held the socket wrench while Daddy was trying to use it, and he claimed the pliers as his own. There was much fit throwing when he had to give them back to Daddy for a few seconds.

Bubble boys

Shane and Logan took a nice long bath last night. They enjoyed blowing bubbles and getting covered in all the fluffiness. Logan was watching the video of Daddy and himself today and thought it was hilarious.

You can kinda see Logan in the video trying to blow the bubbles. It comes out more as a raspberry than a blow. Does the same thing with his food - which is sort of nasty when it blows on you...

The cute BUBBLE BOYS!
