Swimming pool - October 10

After the swamp boat ride, we came back to the condo and went swimming!  Yay for swimming pools without grass growing through them (like ours!)!  The kids were so excited to get in the pool.
Kayleigh really enjoyed jumping in, then swimming to the stairs.  We talked to her several times about jumping straight out, instead of jumping more toward the stairs, but she didn't grasp the concept.  I think she figured she was jumping straight - straight to the stairs.  Oh well...she had fun!
Keegan got in on the action, too!
It was all hands on deck to take down Grandpops!  Two little boys against one Grandpops.  Fair?  I think not!
Then there was the playing beanie-Pops - you know, throw the ball at Grandpops and try to bean him?  Good times, good times...
The kids wore themselves, and Grandpops out!  Fabulous!

Kissimmee Swamp Tours - October 10

We left for Florida very early Tuesday morning (like 3:30 am early), and we made it to the condo in Kissimmee by about 8pm.  We were in shorts and t-shirts and it was colder in Louisiana and Florida than in Houston.  Oh well - there's nothing like leaving warm weather for more warm weather.

So Wednesday morning, we went on an airboat ride with Kissimmee Swamp Tours.  We got to wear some pretty fancy radios.  Logan even got to wear one!  Kayleigh didn't get to wear one, but she got some cute little earmuffs.
Getting on the airboat.  This was a "small" airboat and only took 6 people at a time.  So it was a Flachman/Hileman boat only.
Our boat driver, Shane, Logan (playing with his radio - which he loved and kept pushing the button on when other people were talking), and Grandpops hanging out on the boat.
 Kayleigh with her earmuffs o.
The floating islands on Lake Kissimmee.  There are these tussocks or floating islands in Lake Kissimmee.  Some of these floating islands had trees growing in the middle of them!
A blue heron taking flight.
We saw many birds and a few alligators - one was probably a thousand pounds.  Of course, my camera died before I could get a picture of any alligators.

It was fun to go across grass in the middle of the lake.  It was very fun - it seemed like we were zooming over grassland.  While we were going over it, our driver would tip side to side so we wouldn't get stuck.

T-ball - first game Oct 6

This season, we signed the kids up for t-ball.  They have been having a great time - and they look super cute in their Blue Angel uniforms and hats that are both too big for them.
The first game that they actually played was on October 6.  The first game had rained out.  So after a delicious, but not so nutritious, breakfast of donuts, we headed over to the field.  We were super lucky - Daddy had worked 24 hours on the clock on Friday (Mommy's birthday, but we forgave him), so he got off at 6am on Saturday morning, and was able to come watch the first game.  What a nice surprise!  Otherwise, he would have been at work during the game.
The kids warm up and stretch with one of the dads.  I think there are almost as many adults on the field as kids!  These two know how to have a good time!
She sure can throw for a three year old!  Shane laughed that all the dads were coaching her calling her "baby".  She is the smallest on the team and one of three girls.  She gets some special treatment, though she hustles more than half the boys.
Kayleigh (#2) at bat!
Logan (#3) hits the ball - he just walked up to the T, took a swing, and it was gone!  I barely caught this!
Logan runs to first base.  In the League City city league (bahaha!), there are no outs, and everyone bats until they hit it.  They go through a full rotation of hitters each time.  It ends up being about 2 innings in the one hour game.  Good thing there's a time limit!
And because he's a dad - Shane got drafted into being the third base coach.  The kids love that he gets on their level and calls them "Buddy".  He really knows how to talk to kiddos.
Hands in!  Go Blue Angels!
