Kayleigh's first bloody nose

Well, I guess there's a first for everything, and last night, Kayleigh had her first bloody nose. She and Logan were begging Dadden to go "round n round" - or spin them in the air (which she loves; she says "Whee, whee" the whole time). Anyway, she got down, and was still a little dizzy when she headed for the doggie door. As she was climbing out of it, "Smack!" Ouch! Of course, after a few minutes of screaming (and Logan coming over saying, "Kayleigh has red all over."), she was ready to go round n round again! A tough cookie in a drama queen's clothes. This is the aftermath - after she put on her PJs.

Oh, and I have to laugh. I called Mom and Dad to ask them how to get blood out of clothes. Most of the time, you would assume that Mom would call back. Wrong! Not in the Callicott Family! I love that Dad is Mr. Tide (and if he gets a little more buff and looses more hair we might call him Mr. Clean - love you Daddy!). So Dad called me back with suggestions of a cold water soak (with a little detergent) and if that didn't work, hydrogen peroxide. Viola! No more bloody clothes!

Milkshake mustache

Today, after exercising, we made milkshakes (with spinach and blueberries...actually yummy). Logan and I shared one - and he ended up with a mustache and a soul-patch! Must have been good!

Just for Uncle Doug

Thought I'd post this Ohio State University baby for Uncle Doug. Isn't she so cute?!

First toasted marshmallows

It got cool enough outside to open all the windows and doors and have a fire. So we toasted marshmallows. The kids would rather have the raw marshmallows versus the hot toasted ones. Oh well...it was worth a try...maybe over an open campfire.

Her hair can be braided

When she sits still, Kayleigh can have her hair braided. And amazingly - I still remember how!

Flint, TX

Last weekend (Nov 7-9), we went up to Flint, TX (in east TX, close to Tyler) to hang out with Grandpops, Grandma, Keegan, and the Big Flachman family. Because all but us were staying for the full week, we stayed in a two bedroom condo. It was tight quarters, but luckily, there was a lot to do outside, and we had beautiful weather!

Here, Logan plays a little putt-putt. Both he and Kayleigh had fun playing with the balls. Logan really liked the hole where your ball went down a log and then into the cup. He wanted to play that over and over again. Of course, the people behind us weren't so thrilled with that, but they were super patient. Guess it helps to go to a family friendly resort!

Baby Abby - such a smiley little baby. Kayleigh loved to come up to her and pet her head and say, "Baby!" Just in case you missed that Abby was a baby. Both Logan and Kayleigh enjoyed being around Abby - but Daddy Shane just shook his head and said, "I'm glad our kids are older."

Pops was amazing in the kitchen. Seriously, he was "Chef Tell" all weekend. He made pancakes for us one day, and then yummy hamburgers. Plus, he can chop up and apple with the best of 'em.

Gangsta Daddy and Kayleigh-bob stroll down the road. Aren't they a sweet couple? So while we were up there, Grandma wanted to know how big Kayleigh would be when she grew up (girls - 18 month height and double, boys - 2 yr height and double). We checked when we got home and I hope you like short chicks, because at 31", she'll be 5'2" when she grows up. Logan should be 5'10".

On Monday, we had a birthday celebration for all the boys. The four older boys were all born in November, and Logan was born in December (funny, because both girls were born in the spring - April and May). Each boy had a circle on the caterpillar,

and they all got their own corner of the cake - with their age in candles. Jayden had 9 candles (but was such a windbag, that he blew most everyone else's candles out), the twins had 6, Keegan had 4, and Logan had 3 candles.

Logan got a book on trains from Grandma! How exciting! Kayleigh got a book called "Overboard" - very fitting for the girl who throws everything out of the tub, the crib, and from her highchair.

Kayleigh with Uncle Mikell. Uncle Mikell gives "sticky kisses" where his lips would stick to Kayleigh's cheeks. She thought this was hilarious.

When we were eating birthday cake, Logan decided to feed Daddy. As Georgeann used to say, "It's like wedding cake!" Yummy!

Tuesday, before we left, we went to the Marina on Lake Palestine to feed the ducks and geese. Logan, aka Mr. Fearless, fed all of them and got a few goose bites.

Keegan, Kayleigh, and Grandpops (who Kayleigh now calls Bipops or Didops) sit on the floating pier. This was super nice and super sturdy. Kayleigh loved pointing out the ducks.

A view of Lake Palestine. It was a little low, and you could see some of the stumps sticking out from beneath the water. The weather was beautiful, but a little windy - the lake was whitecapping!

We had a great time, but we didn't get to try out the indoor waterpark, so on our way up to HSV for Thanksgiving, we're going to staying Tyler for one night and check it out. Should be fun with our two little waterbabies!

Thanks Grandma and Grandpops for a super fun weekend! It was great to get to hang out with everyone.

My babies

Yesterday, Logan and Kayleigh played with their babies. Logan had the glow-worm (it's like an already swaddled baby), and Kayleigh had her pink baby. Anyway, they carried them around the house, then Logan decided it was time for the babies to take a nap. So they went to Kayleigh's room to put them in the crib. The babies were unceremoniously dropped into the crib, and then covered with blankets as well as little arms could do reaching through the slats in the crib.

Then, we quietly walked out, closed the door, when Logan stopped, listened and said, "Oh, no! The babies are crying! We need to get them." So we went back in, picked up the babies and rocked them. Then I wrapped them up and put them to bed. Then Logan said they were still crying, that they were sick, and we needed to give them medicine (note: Kayleigh and Logan both get Zyrtec before bed - allergies in SE Texas are some of the worst in the world!). I had a syringe (no needle) and a bottle. I filled it with water, and we gave the babies some "medicine".

Finally, the babies slept soundly.

Drawing on the computer

One of Logan's favorite things is to play on the computer, so much so that he has his own account on both of our computers. He loves fisherprice.com, where he can play the ABC game or the scoring goals game (counting).

But most of all he loves to "draw" in Microsoft Paint. He is very good at the mousepad, and can hold the button down, move the cursor, and also click on new colors all by himself. Maybe I should try this with K-bobby. She likes to watch Bubba on the computer, and she doesn't like to draw with crayons (they are tasty treats instead).

Halloween - Trick or Treating

After the Fall Festival at church, we came home and went trick or treating. It was our first time to go, and the kids had a blast! Logan became a pro - saying "twick or treat", then "may I have more?", and finally, "thank you!".

This was the first house we hit - our next door neighbors, Sadie, Miss Jen, Mr. Steve, and Baby Ashlynn. Sadie was a Twister game this year - so cute! I think the go-go boots made the outfit.

Kayleigh really enjoyed getting all the candy, and wanted to eat it as soon as she got it. She would not let anyone hold her pumpkin, and helped herself to several lollipops. And then, she got tired about halfway through. So Mommy got to hold this sweet, snotty, sticky cheerleader, except for the walkways up to the houses.

All in all, Halloween was a success. Logan was so excited that he didn't get to sleep until 9:30pm! Yay! And Kayleigh-bob got a nice bath before bed. But I'm sure visions of sugar plums danced in their heads...

Halloween - Fall Festival

Our church had a Fall Festival at the Safari Park Trailer Park (just down the street from our church - and they have a pretty big open field). There were two moonwalks, bobbing for apples, coin toss, needle in a haystack, and lots of other fun games.

As you can see from Houston Rockets Cheerleader Kayleigh, there was also face painting.

This is my sweet pumpkin, Logan.

Logan stayed very still getting his face painted. He actually ended up getting both cheeks done, one with a heart, and one with a pumpkin.

Rachel and Baby Caleb - cute as a little scarecrow. He's a cute little chunky monkey - 13 months younger than Kayleigh and just 2 lbs lighter! He has the sweetest smile and an infectious little giggle.

So, Evie wasn't really dressed up, but she sure looks like a future beach volleyball player to me.

Crazy girl in the moonwalk. She actually did jump and had a really good time doing it. At one point, Kayleigh came up to us looking for Logan. "Bubba? Bubba?" We pointed him out and once she saw him, she made a beeline across the field to him. She then gave him a big hug from behind! I was floored - she's usually trying to push him down or out of the way! Good to see she really does love him.

Kayleigh watches some big boys bob for apples. Logan bobbed for apples - with his hand. Mr. Dave had pity on the little guy and let him "cheat".

The Fall Festival was (I think) a success! There were lots of kids and people from the trailer park. It was fun to meet our "neighbors".

Fort Bend Volunteer Firestation

On Friday, October 22, we went with a bunch of other moms and kids to the Fort Bend Volunteer Firestation. Of course, the kids were impressed for the first few minutes, and then were ready to play on the fire trucks.

Here is Logan in front of the pump apparatus. I thought it was interesting that the firemen called their engine an "apparatus". They had two at this station, a pump apparatus and a ladder apparatus. The pump carries 500 gallons with it, which they use while they clean out the hydrant.

Miss Jackie got to get all decked out in fireman gear. She looked so good! We were trying to tell the kids that you shouldn't be afraid of firemen - since they are friends, just like Miss Jackie. But it was a hot day, and by the end, I think Jackie was happy to get out of the gear!
