Chalk letters

I had a meeting on Tuesday in Baytown, but the kids were outside playing with our neighbors. Levi came equipped with his sidewalk chalk, and Shane said the boys had fun drawing all over the concrete. Logan looked at these after he wrote them and told Daddy, "That's a D - for Daddy! And that's a B - buh, buh, buh. And there's an O!" If you can't tell, the "D" is at the bottom, the "O" is in the middle, and the "B" is backwards at the top (but frontwards from the other side).

We were amazed - didn't think all the flashcards, Elmo games, and "Word World" were sinking in.

Our new "pet"

For Valentine's Day, we decided to break down and get the new PS Move. It's a lot like the Wii remote, but it has a glowing ball at the end (like magic!). But we also got the EyePet game for Logan (and Kayleigh). Logan has such fun playing with little "Fuzzie". He likes to make the pet jump on and off his legs by opening and closing them. He laughs and laughs!

Fuzzie is a talented little EyePet. He can draw and sing and jump on a trampoline. Anyway, Mommy drew a picture and held it up for Fuzzie to see. He copied it! Neato!

We played stylist with our little pet. Green hair, trucker hat, and nice jacket. He's good to go! Later, we put him in monster and turtle outfits. He's a cute little guy. Oh, and Logan's favorite part - giving him a bath!

Sucking up Weav-ehs

While Daddy was cleaning the truck on Feb. 16, Logan was left in the yard with a shop vac. Hmm, this sucks - no, literally! So, being the helper he is, Logan decided to vacuum the leaves up. Because he says his "L's" like "W's" (I Wogan), and has been adding "ehs" to things to make them plural - it became: he was sucking up weav-ehs.

Baby, you can drive my car

Doesn't this look like Kayleigh went out on her first date? Dmitri was trying to hang on to her while they were in the John Deere, because it has no sides. But then it occasionally looked like he was trying to steal some kisses...Didn't he know her Dadden was watching?

And here she is, Mustang Sally. Well, okay, so it's a Ford F150, not a Ford Mustang. But she still drives it all over town er, the cul-de-sac.

She kinda stands up to reach the pedals, and she's not the best at steering (though she thinks she's phenomenal). She tends to run into parked cars (she's kin to her Dammy aka Gram). But she definitely understands the concept of back-up. She does this better than Logan used to.

Baby, you can drive my car, no little truck!

If you give a boy some markers...

If you give a boy some markers for Valentine's Day...
He'll want to use them, sometimes on his face.

Then he'll want to trace his hands.

And then you'll clean him up, he will see his sister coloring, and he will want to color. Then you'll give the boy some markers...

I fixin' sumthin'

Logan is his Daddy's boy - he fixes things. Whether they need fixing or not (okay, that's more a Papa-thing, not a Daddy thing). Anyway, when we're at Kroger, he climbs on top of the car part of the car-cart and "fixes sumthin'"

Here, he takes time out from playing with his friends to fix sumthin' under Daddy's truck. What a nice boy to help his Dadden. He is a great helper, my Mr. Little Fix-it.

Because Logan was under the truck, Kayleigh had to get under the truck.

We've had this discussion...

I laughed when I saw this comic strip, because Shane and I have had this discussion before. And the end result was the same, too! LOVE IT!

My sweet baboo

Kayleigh is often a Mama's girl, which is sweet (but can be annoying when you're trying to get dinner ready). Her newest game is to play, "Got you!" and hug my legs. She also says, "I wuv you" all the time. I love my little love bug!

And her new hair style - sort of a copy of Aunt Amy's braided buns on Lottie. Cute, if it would stay up with all the nose diving my not-so-graceful little girl does.

Trains across the divide

This monstrousity has since been torn down, but Dadden made a great train set spanning both kids' rooms and the hallway between. It was sort of hard for Logan to get to the bathroom, but he survived (though Kayleigh bit it once walking over the train set).

Logan's room - you can actually walk in here!

The hallway - two tiered train tracks. Pretty amazing.

Kayleigh's room - the room with all the construction pieces.

I want UP

Anyone with kids knows that the munchkins always want UP (unless they want DOWN). So this is where Dadden has been putting our kids when they want UP:

Buddies

Kayleigh Shayne and Timothy Shane...CHEESE! They have similar smiles - all teeth!

Ice, ice, baby

February 4, it got so cold in the Houston-Galveston area, that it iced. I mean, this isn't Dallas or anything, we usually don't get ice.

I thought it was funny - this was our newspaper. It looked like it had rain on it, but it tinkled as it fell off - not rain, but ice!

Some of our grass - again, not rain, but ice. Almost like it had flash frozen.

Amazing that it's gotten this cold - hard freeze warnings even in Galveston County. We've had to turn on our heater this year!

Fishin'

You'd think these kids had an angler for a Bapa. Logan has only been fishing once - with Granny and Grandpa up in Colorado. But he remembers it well: he remembers you use corn on your hook to catch fish. So when we were putting the red rope over our "boat", we had to put corn on the end of it. And look what Logan caught - a Kayleigh-fish!

Then, Daddy got out one of his fishing poles and set up the SpongeBob and Patrick bobs on it. Each kid got half of the rod. But they could still fish from the top bunk/boat.

Kayleigh goes fishing with her SpongeBob Squarepants bob. Didn't catch anything, but such is the life of a fisherwoman. Besides, it's all about looking cute (especially when you stick your tongue out).

My future?

Saturday, all the kids were in the cul-de-sac, so of course, Kayleigh and Logan had to go out as well. Logan got out his F150, and it was a huge hit with all the boys. They had fun taking turns driving it.

And then, somehow, they all piled in it! Stavro drove, Dmitri was shotgun, and Levi and Logan sat in the bed. Kendra (Levi's mom) and I stood in the road laughing that this was how it would look in 10 years. I'm sure it will be sooner than I expect!

All these boys playing with Logan's F150 did not make Kayleigh happy. They drove off and left her - so after running a few steps after them, jumping up and down, then throwing herself on the ground and throwing a temper tantrum, she felt a little better. She was not ready for Logan to give HER seat to someone else. She always rides shotgun!

Running of the dog

Saturday, Logan found Bug's leash and somehow put it on him. Then he ran Bug up and down the hallway - from the front door to the back door. "Come on, Bug!" Good thing Bug likes to run, and he did a great job of actually "heeling" with Logan. Of course, whenever the boys passed me Bug gave me his, "Please rescue me, Mom!" look. They both had a good workout!
