Logan, the cuddle bug, climbed up into Bapa's lap while watching a Baby Einstein. He enjoyed pointing out the whales and fish and dolphins...just in case Bapa didn't know what they were.
Here are the girls just hanging out in Kayleigh's room. Kayleigh is really trying to crawl - she gets up on all fours and rocks, but only goes backwards. But soon!
Bapa and Kayleigh - one of her favorite sleeping spots. Bapa fidgets so much that it puts Kayleigh to sleep every time.
Logan "helps" Gram wash apples. He really enjoyed washing them then throwing them in the sink. He'd laugh and laugh. Good thing they were all going into pies!
Kayleigh tried to drink OJ from her cup, but the Nuki is in the way. She tried and tried to get some juice, but didn't quite understand the whole getting rid of the Nuki.
We took the kiddos to Chick-Fil-A, and Logan had a great time playing, as long as Gram was with him. She climbed up in the tubes with him and took some pictures up in the plastic car. It was funny, after eating, he grabbed Gram's hand and led her back into the play area. He wasn't going in without her!
Ms. Ashley (Doug's girlfriend), Kayleigh, and Uncle Doug hang out a the house in Galveston.
The four cousins - Lottie-lou (19 months), Adam (3 1/2 years), Logan (23 months), Kayleigh-bob (7 months). We tried to get professional pictures taken at JCPenney, but that was a complete shambles. Logan started crying as soon as he sat down, and that set off Kayleigh. Oh well, snot looks great in photos!
Three wet cousins with CRAZY hair! Don't they sort of look like Dr. Seuss kids?
The boys had a great time splashing in the pool. Logan didn't really want to get in, but he thought kicking from the side was super fun!
Logan actually did get in - for 10 seconds. But he was super ready to get out, even if Bapa was in the pool.
Logan enjoyed rocking in on the porch. It's much more fun when you're naked, too. (Shane would say everything is better naked - but then, he's just like that.)
Logan and Adam traded toys all week. Adam had fun with Logan's trucks, and Logan had a great time with Adam's Thomas trains. In fact, Logan loved the trains so much he wouldn't let them go while out at the pool.
Bapa, Gram, and Logan watched a squirrel scurry across and electrical wire. We don't have squirrels in our yard (trees aren't big enough), so it was a treat for Logan to see one.
Aunt Amy did Kayleigh's hair (and Kayleigh actually sat for it).
The finished product! Isn't she cute with the little bows?
Logan hitches a ride with Uncle Doug.
"But you know what, Uncle Doug, I'd rather walk."
The gang goes out for a walk on the Strand. We saw a lot of Ike flood lines. They were a lot higher than I expected.
Ashley and Kayleigh - Kayleigh loved Ashley and was very content to just hang out with her. Amazing.
Mama and Kayleigh at the Old Fashioned Ice Cream parlor on the Strand.
Logan hangs out at the ice cream parlor. Yup, they have wire chairs there (and a old time taffy puller, but it wasn't running at the time).
Daddy helps Logan open Christmas presents. Yay! What fun!
Bapa and Daddy hang out while frying the turkeys. Yum!
Logan and Bapa play with some of Logan's Christmas presents. Duplo blocks! Yay! Logan loves them, and Bapa seemed to have fun as well.
It was a great Thanksgiving. And it was so great to see everyone. With the young Callicotts in Texas, and Uncle Doug able to fly to Houston for very cheap, maybe we'll get together more often. We can hope!
