Abby came with us - so Grandma decided to feed her to the alligators, since she is SUCH an irresponsible Grandma (heehee).
Look at all these 'gators. "Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses". Well, they sure have the huddled masses of alligators! The egret hangs out to get some of the food from the alligators. I would think it's a precarious perch, but it seems to work, since there was a plethora of egrets at Gatorland looking for a "freebie".
The alligator show! These guys were funny, but obviously knew what they were doing, even though they played stupid.
Look at the chompers on this prehistoric baby! CHOMP! Raw chicken is YUMMY!
We got to feed the giant tortoise with sweet potato on a stick. They do eat fast, even if they don't move too fast! The kids enjoyed it so much.
We took a break and watched one of the silly shows. It was silly, but I love silly, so it was great! And it was nice to sit down and take a breather. Even though it was October, it's like Houston, warm and sunny!
Then we found a little section where you could feed the birds. It was like being a Disney princess - they birds would come and sit on your finger! Abby and Grandma had a great time!
Logan loved this place. He probably would have stayed here all day. He thought it was amazing to have the birds land on him. He was picking up popsicle sticks with bird seed on them to coax the birds to love him.
Kayliehg had a good time too. The birds even landed on her head!
Aunt Monica also had a bird land on her head - but this one tried to EAT her hair. Tasty?
My pirate husband. See, I married a "bad boy". Heehee.
Logan two fists it! Two birds at once! Lucky guy!
Alligator wrestling. Not my idea of fun...
We signed up in the morning to feed the alligators. Here, Keegan tosses some rather rotten meat to the gators.
Aunt Monica gets as close as she dares to the alligators.
Logan tosses a piece of meat to the large jaws of a hungry alligator. I am amazed he could do it. The smell of the meat made me gag. I did throw a couple of pieces, but man, it just turned my stomach!
Look at all these hungry alligators...
Logan found a pinecone about the size of his head! It almost hit him on the head - but it luckily, landed beside him.
Another egret, waiting for a freebie...
Yummy - an ice cream sandwich. What a great idea Grandpops had! We had to copy him (or risk having super whiny kids).
A super still alligator - so still, the kids could climb on it!
Into the jaws of the gator!
And see, I actually was there! The kids are wet from playing at the Gator Gully Splash park - a little water playground. Of course, we had to go!
It was a good day - because a little girl fell asleep on the way home with her new pink alligator, Pinkie. We were all worn out from a long warm day - but it was a good worn out!
