Just before Halloween, Shane took off a Friday, and we went to Zoo Boo at the Houston Zoo. The kids had fun dressing up in their costumes - Kayleigh in Logan's old monkey costume (he wore it when he was almost two, she's three and a half) and Logan in his fireman costume from last year (which he loved and didn't want to give up). It was rather cool that day, which was great since both kids had rather warm costumes on.
Kayleigh loved the mural. She loved getting to color on the walls! Logan had fun too, but he was trying to fix all the markers, to make sure they all had lids and weren't dried out.
Logan got to pet a chinchilla! They are so incredibly soft! The zookeeper told me that they have 6 hairs that come out of one follicle. That's what makes them so soft.
We also got to see the elephant keepers feeding them some bread and fruit. My little monkey enjoyed watching them.
In the pumpkin patch.
The pumpkin patch allowed them to pick one small pumpkin and decorate it.
We also hit up the candy stations and tattoo stations. All the tootsie rolls were gone by the time we got back to the car!
